NURTUROUS · THERAPY SPACE
Opening October 2026 · Placentia, CA

Orange County's first membership-based pediatric therapy suite.

Nurturous gives independent pediatric clinicians — speech-language pathologists, feeding and educational therapists, child psychologists — private, sound-treated rooms in a medical plaza, booked by the hour through an app. You keep 100% of your practice: your clients, your rates, your records, your income.

No lease. No front desk. No build-out. No paying rent on an empty office all summer.

Founding members lock the lowest rates for 12 months — and the $100 reservation comes back doubled, as $200 in opening credit. First come, first served.

A first look

Designed like a place families want to walk into

Warm, calm, and shoes-off — closer to a well-designed children's studio than a clinic corridor. All five bookable rooms are below: three private therapy rooms, the assessment & feeding room, and the movement & messy-play flex room — plus the lounge and the details in between. Opening October 2026.

Who it's for

Built for the clinicians who work with kids

Nurturous is planned around independent, private-pay and out-of-network practices — clinicians who own their caseloads and set their own rates. (Insurance-billing practices are welcome too; your billing stays entirely yours.) Different practices need different things from a room, and the space was designed around all of them — including the referrals that flow when child-focused practices share a roof.

For SLPs

Quiet, private, professional

  • Sound-treated rooms — quiet enough for articulation work, testing, and clean language samples
  • Assessment & feeding room for evals and feeding/swallowing sessions
  • After-school hours that work — reserve recurring 3–7pm blocks, and scale down in summer without paying for an empty office
  • A waiting room parents like — families stay on premises, siblings included
For allied pediatric practices

Feeding, learning, behavior, and beyond

  • Feeding & myofunctional therapists — feeding room, in-suite sinks, kids' restroom steps away
  • Educational & literacy therapists, and Licensed Educational Psychologists — distraction-light rooms built for attention, with long blocks for assessments and IEE evaluations
  • Child psychologists, counselors, play & art therapists — sound-isolated privacy and a calm waiting-room handoff
  • Pediatric dietitians & lactation consultants — professional rooms by the hour, weekday mornings wide open

Nurturous is a professional suite for licensed and credentialed practitioners — every member practices under a verifiable California license or, where California doesn't license the profession, a national board certification. Licensed OTs and other independent clinicians are welcome too; if yours is a quiet, 1:1 practice built around kids, this space was planned with you in mind.

The community

You're joining a community of colleagues

Solo practice doesn't have to mean practicing alone. Nurturous is deliberately small and deliberately shared — a handful of child-focused practices under one roof, with the structure to actually know each other.

Collaborate & cross-refer

When speech, feeding, learning, and behavior practices share a hallway, referrals flow both ways — and a quick corridor consult replaces a week of phone tag.

Member socials

Get-togethers through the year — low-key, occasional, and worth showing up for. The lounge isn't just for charting.

Learn together

After regular hours the flex room becomes a workshop space: group sessions, seminars, and the continuing-education evenings we plan to host — members first in line.

Pricing

Pay for hours, not for square footage

One flat membership plus graduated hourly room rates — the more you book, the less each hour costs. Utilities, cleaning, Wi-Fi, waiting room, and lounge included. No hidden fees, and never a percentage of your revenue.

StandardFoundingYou save
Monthly membership$80$6025%
Hours 1–20$30/hr$28/hr7%
Hours 21–40$25/hr$23/hr8%
Hours 41–60$20/hr$18/hr10%
Hours 61+$15/hr$12/hr20%

That's the entire formula: membership + the hours you book. Tiers are graduated within each calendar month — your first 20 hours bill at the first rate, the next 20 at the second, and so on. One-hour minimum per booking; cancel at least 24 hours ahead at no charge. Founding rates are locked for 12 months from opening day.

Founding rates are worth roughly $1,700–$2,400 over the 12-month lock at a full caseload — and a prime-time hour costs a founding member $28 against a typical $150–190 private-pay session.

Founding membership

The best terms this space will ever offer

Founding members are the clinicians who claim the space before it opens — their rates lock lowest, their reservations are honored in the order they arrive, and the space takes shape around their input. Reserve with a refundable $100 and here's what you hold, in writing:

Founding rates, locked 12 months

$60/mo membership and the reduced hourly tiers above, guaranteed from opening day for a full year — while everyone after opening pays standard.

Your $100 becomes $200

Your reservation isn't a fee — it doubles. $200 in opening credit, applied to your first invoices.

First in the door

When booking opens, founding members schedule before anyone else — and get soft-opening access as soon as final inspections clear, targeting late September, ahead of the public opening.

Refundable. Actually.

Full refund on request any time before opening, no questions asked — and automatic if we don't open by Dec 31, 2026, or terms change. Read the terms.

Founding membership is strictly first come, first served — reservations are timestamped and honored in order until the founding group is full. When it's full, it closes for good, and standard rates apply from then on. Founding members also get a dedicated personal locker, included — bring your own lock; only you hold the key.

Questions clinicians actually ask

FAQ

Is this a job, a contract position, or a network?

None of the above. Nurturous is a space, not an employer or agency. You keep your own practice, clients, caseload, rates, superbills, and clinical records. We never take a percentage of your revenue. Think of it as a professional home for your practice — not anything with a W-2 or 1099 attached.

What exactly does the $100 deposit guarantee?

Four things, in writing: founding rates locked for 12 months from opening day; your $100 doubled into $200 of opening credit, applied to your first invoices; first access to the calendar when booking opens, before standard members; and full refundability — on request any time before opening, automatically if we don't open by December 31, 2026 or if the terms you reserved under change.

Why is founding membership limited?

Because the space is. Five rooms hold a finite number of practices — especially in after-school hours — and founding benefits like first calendar access only mean something if the group holding them is small. When founding membership is full, new members join at standard rates.

How does access work with no front desk?

You book rooms in an app and unlock the suite with your phone during posted suite hours. Every entry is individually logged, which protects everyone: you always know who was in the space and when. Families arrive through the front entrance into the waiting room, where parents stay during sessions — and members have a separate private entrance in the back, so you can arrive, reset between sessions, and head out without crossing the waiting area.

What does the space look like today?

The suite is currently occupied by its prior tenant; our build-out completes this fall, ahead of the October 2026 opening. The images on this page are concept renderings of what we're building — styling and furnishings may vary, but the layout and room dimensions are the real floor plan. Want to talk it through room by room? Email hello@thenurturous.com — we're happy to walk the floor plan with you.

I work with toddlers and preschoolers — does this only work for after-school practices?

The opposite: weekday mornings are the most open part of the calendar, and the movement & messy-play room plus the in-suite kids' restroom were planned with early-intervention and preschool-age caseloads in mind. Morning-anchored clinicians will find the calendar wide open.

How does booking and cancellation work?

Rooms are booked through the app in one-hour minimum blocks. Cancel at least 24 hours ahead and there's no charge. The finer points — recurring bookings, holiday policies, and the rest — are being finalized with the founding members themselves, which is exactly the kind of input founding membership buys.

I'm not full-time private practice — does this still work for me?

It's designed for you. Many founding members will start with a few hours a week — after-school afternoons, a Saturday morning by arrangement, or one weekday — while keeping a school, clinic, or hospital position. You pay membership plus only the hours you book, so a small caseload isn't subsidizing an empty office. The rooms work for telehealth too, if your week mixes both. Grow into more hours whenever your caseload does.

What's the commitment after opening? Can I cancel membership?

Membership is month-to-month with 30 days' notice — no annual lease-style commitment; that's the point of Nurturous. (Founding rates stay locked for the 12 months as long as your membership is active.) Final membership terms are being finalized with the founding group.

Can I use Nurturous as my practice's business address?

Yes — as an optional add-on, members can use the suite as their practice's business and mailing address, with mail collected securely for pickup. There's a small monthly fee, priced with the founding group. For clinicians running a practice from home, this keeps your home address off your superbills, invoices, and public filings.

Can two clinicians share one membership?

No — membership is per clinician, since each member's license, insurance, and client relationships are their own. Colleagues are welcome to each join and coordinate their schedules; that's exactly the kind of practice-sharing the space makes easy.

What hours can I book?

Weekdays 8am–7pm, Saturday mornings (9am–noon) by arrangement, closed Sundays. And if the founding group's caseloads call for something different, we'll fine-tune the posted hours with them — another place where joining early means the space fits your schedule.

What materials and equipment are provided?

A shared materials library stocks the core essentials of pediatric speech and language work — articulation and language materials, play-based therapy toys and books, visual supports and AAC basics, feeding and oral-motor supplies, and social-skills games — and it grows over time with member input. Specialty tools and your assessment kits stay yours — founding members get a dedicated locker to keep them in. Rooms come furnished: child-size tables and seating, storage, and acoustic treatment.

Can I bill insurance from here? Do you handle billing?

Your practice, your billing — insurance, private-pay, or both. Nurturous provides the space and stays out of your clinical and financial relationship with families. That said, if enough members want it, we plan to offer an optional billing service through a partner agency — mention it in the form below if that would help your practice. We're building Nurturous to grow with you.

What do I need to join?

Nurturous accepts licensed and credentialed professionals only: a current, unrestricted California license in your discipline — or, for professions California doesn't license, a current certification from your field's national governing body (for example RDN, IBCLC, AET, or ATR-BC) — plus professional liability insurance and a signed membership agreement. One more thing, and it's deliberate: Nurturous is curated for quiet, 1:1, child-focused practices, so every membership is confirmed personally before it's finalized.

Who's behind Nurturous?

Nurturous was co-founded by Julie Kim, M.S., M.Ed., CCC-SLP — a practicing pediatric speech-language pathologist and owner of i Level Speech — and Felix Kim, an operations director who runs the business side. It was designed by a working clinician who wanted this space to exist, and an operator who could build it.

Founding reservation terms

Summary — the formal version arrives with your confirmation email

  1. What you're paying: a $100 reservation deposit for a founding membership at Nurturous · Therapy Space, Placentia, CA. The deposit is held, not spent — and when the space opens it is credited as $200 of opening credit against your first invoice(s). Founding membership is limited; reservations are accepted in the order received until the founding group is full.
  2. What it reserves: founding pricing ($60/month membership plus the published founding hourly tiers) locked for 12 months from opening day, and first access to the booking calendar before standard members when scheduling opens.
  3. Refunds: your $100 deposit is refunded in full, automatically, if Nurturous does not open for member bookings by December 31, 2026, or if the pricing or material terms you reserved under change before opening. You may also request a full refund at any time before opening, for any reason, and it will be returned to your original payment method within 10 business days. (Refunds are of the $100 paid; opening credit applies only if you proceed to membership.)
  4. What this is not: this reservation is not a lease, a tenancy, an employment or agency relationship, or a binding commitment to become a member. Your practice, clients, records, and revenue remain entirely your own.
  5. Becoming a member: before first booking, members provide verification of a current California license or credential in their discipline, a certificate of professional liability insurance, and a signed membership agreement.
